Carter Hall Rehabilitation

Lookout Mountain, GA

Built in the 1920s as a resort hotel, Carter Hall is a Tudor style concrete framed and stucco structure on the Covenant College campus.

Lord Aeck Sargent is assisting the College with the rehabilitation and modernization of Carter Hall, which houses the main residence hall, dining hall, administrative offices and bookstore.

The scope of improvements is phased to allow the school to continue to function and capture housing fee revenue for its ongoing operations. We have developed measured drawings using Revit, a Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. The drawings serve as the foundation for the scope of phased improvements, which includes rehabilitating the interior, original exterior wall assembly, reconstructing original tower features, providing a new roof system, mechanical, electrical and fire protection system and emergency generator.

The project also includes upgrading the kitchen and dining hall and modernizing the student rooms and administration offices.
