Three Chisolm Street

Three Chisolm Street

Charleston, SC

Three Chisolm Street Condominiums is a conversion of a 1925 School, a 1957 Gym and a Keeper's Cottage in the Historic South of Broad District.

Converted to high-end residential condominiums. The School's 20 units feature high ceilings, restored hardwood and terrazzo floors and formal moulding. Three-story terrace additions were constructed to overlook a new central courtyard designed for social gathering which stands in the place of a demolished one-story maintenance building.

On the exterior of the building, existing stucco and terra cotta were cleaned and restored. Based on extensive research, the windows' profile was retrieved from the manufacturer's archives, with new windows installed to match. Each of the Gym's six units has been designed as a two-story loft with an open mezzanine over a covered open parking garage. The Cottage has been restored into a single unit with private garden.
