Lord Aeck Sargent is providing the master planning, architectural concept and zoning services for the redevelopment of the old General Motors Lakewood Plant site in the Chosewood Park neighborhood of Atlanta.
The 40-acre site, currently zoned for industrial use, is seeking one of the City's Quality of Life Districts designations which emphasize a mixed-use with strong urban design characteristics like building placement and an enhanced pedestrian experience.
The plan includes a mix of residential units ranging from apartments located along the major corridors to large town homes located internally, along with a small retail component to be located at the major intersection in the neighborhood. Central to the plan is the creation of a park which reintroduces greenspace to the community.
