Trinity School Expansion & Renovation

The Trinity School is a private elementary school in Atlanta with 500 students in pre-Kindergarten through sixth grades. Lord, Aeck & Sargent designed a major renovation and expansion that provided new playground areas and spaces for dance, music, assemblies, theater, library and other enrichment programs previously unavailable to students at the school.
Designed as a collection of playground pieces, the various elements of the school's design evoke romantic, playful images, creating a "kindergothic" environment that makes architecture an intriguing part of the children's learning experience.
This project was recognized with a National AIA Design Honor Award in 1990.
