Brannen Hall Renovation
Statesboro, GA
Georgia Southern University selected Lord, Aeck & Sargent in collaboration with Palmer Architects to renovate Brannen Hall, a three-story brick and concrete building constructed in 1963 to serve as a women’s dormitory.
The renovation will adapt the dormitory building to be used by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Science as faculty offices and labs for the Department of Psychology as well as administrative offices for other departments.
The goal of the project is to keep the exterior intact, retaining the building’s original character, while making the following renovations:
- Abatement, demolition and reconfiguration of all interior partitions
- Replacement of all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
- Roof and window replacement
- Life safety, accessibility upgrades and site enhancement
The project will be energy-efficient and sustainable. It is targeting LEED Certification.
