Mixed-Use Village – Ph I
Greensboro, NC
After completing their Neighborhood Master Plan in 2010, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) selected Lord, Aeck & Sargent to design the first phase of the new Mixed-Use Residential Village.
The Village, located adjacent to the existing campus will include 800 new residential units as well as mixed-use spaces.
The goals of the project is to provide more on-campus housing for students as well as revitalize the streetscape and neighborhood as part of a larger City of Greensboro Lee Street Corridor plan. Additional program will likely include academic and social spaces that create a living/learning environment.
Important community features will be:
- Sensitivity to existing trees and community open spaces
- Blending the campus and the neighborhood
-
Providing a template and an anchor for future development along the Lee Street corridor
