Lord Aeck Sargent Appoints New Michigan Director
Ann Arbor, MI — December 6, 2018 – Lord Aeck Sargent (LAS) has promoted Ben Ridderbos, AIA, LEED AP to director of its Ann Arbor office. The leading architecture, interior design and planning firm has six offices across the U.S. Known for providing Responsive Design, LAS brings a broad range of expertise including architects, interior designers, laboratory planners, learning environment specialists, historic preservation specialists, urban designers, landscape architects, cost estimators and building performance analysts to bear on a wide range of complex projects.
Ridderbos, a project manager who has worked in the LAS Ann Arbor office since 2013, first joined LAS in 2008. He brings more than 22 years of architectural and engineering experience. He is a licensed architect and LEED-accredited professional who specializes in working with higher education and corporate clients, and his portfolio includes work for the University of Michigan, Western Michigan University, Wayne State University and Laboratory Corporation of America.
“Ben is perfectly positioned to lead Lord Aeck Sargent’s Ann Arbor office into its next phase,” said Joe Greco, AIA, LEED AP, President of LAS. “He brings decades of experience working alongside design and construction teams, managing complex academic and scientific research projects, as well as urban mixed-use multi-family/commercial projects. We’re thrilled for him to continue Lord Aeck Sargent’s legacy of excellence in his expanded leadership role.”
As Ridderbos takes over the leadership role in the growing Ann Arbor office, LAS is designing a large, residential and retail mixed-use building in downtown Ann Arbor. The project is designed to LEED Silver Certification standards and will be a signature project knitting together neighborhoods in Ann Arbor with the core of downtown.
Additionally, the Ann Arbor office is working with the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, Northern Michigan University and private developers on two highly sustainable projects in Ann Arbor seeking Living Building Challenge certification.
Ridderbos’ headshot, as well as high resolution images of recent and current projects, are available by request.
