Coastal Georgia Community College

The Camden Center

Kingsland, GA

The Camden Center is the first phase of a new campus for Coastal Georgia Community College.

Located on an undeveloped 75-acre site in South Georgia, Camden Center will help meet pre-baccalaureate educational, occupational training and vocational training needs in the growing area around Kings Bay Submarine Base. The first-phase building contains academic and vocational multimedia classrooms and labs, administrative and faculty offices, library, bookstore, a 300-seat auditorium and distance learning classrooms.

The school's vocational programs include computer CADD and drafting, electronics, industrial maintenance, allied health and nursing, childcare training, culinary arts and general science and biology.

The Camden Center is designed to create a campus-like quadrangle with a single building and to set the tone for future traditional college buildings. Lord Aeck Sargent designed the project as a consultant to the local Brunswick firm John A. Tuten and Associates.
