Lord Aeck Sargent, in collaboration with PhiloWilke Partnership, provided laboratory planning and design services for the shell space of the existing 90,000 sf Science and Engineering Research Building of which only 21,200 sf was implemented.
After validation of the previous programming and conceptual design efforts, the Design Team responded to the University’s mission with an updated utilization strategy, providing shared Core Facilities and adaptable Lab and Lab Support spaces. The newly completed facility provides research space in the following areas: Synthetic and Organic Chemistry, Molecular Design, Synthetic Biology, Bio-informatics, Drug Discovery, High-Resolution Imaging Core (Electron Microscopy), Mass Spectroscopy, and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance.
