Georgia Environmental Protection Division
The replacement testing laboratory for the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GA EPD), which provides an analytical foundation for environmental compliance in all GA EPD regulatory programs including air, water, land and hazardous waste systems.
The GA EPD laboratory conducts chemical and microbiological testing of air, water, soil and biota throughout the state. The new lab is organized so processes flow efficiently from receiving and accessioning functions through testing processes and finally disposal of waste. The testing facilities include air quality, bacteriological, GC/MS (volatiles), inorganics, organics and metals labs.
A key challenge for this project was meeting the demanding schedule of months for design and construction. The team worked directly with all of the users to accelerate the design and approval process.
