Southern Polytechnic State University

Precinct Plan

Marietta, GA

The acquisition of a new 5-acre parcel along the western edge of the campus raised the need of a new precinct plan for Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU).

SPSU commissioned Lord Aeck Sargent to conduct a feasibility study and planning study to determine the efficacy of this site for the location of the ECET / Mathematics Building.

The result was a new precinct plan that included the adjacent buildings and green spaces that would be impacted by the addition of the new building, as well as opportunities for future buildings.  The new precinct plan is consistent with the SPSU strategic plan, accommodates the continued rapid growth of the School of Architecture, CET & Construction programs, and reinforces the existing green spaces and axial relationships defined by the campus master plan.
